Sedum (Stonecrop) is an easy to grow group of succulents that look great in the summer and autumn garden. The sedums are a wildly variable group with long narrow stems that grow along the ground and form mats of colourful fleshy foliage. Traditionally, creeping sedums are grown for their colourful foliage (blue, yellow, copper, marron and more!) or for their draping form which softens the edge of containers and the rock walls that they have been tucked into. Although not specifically grown for flowers, creeping sedums do produce attractive but short sprays of flowers. The sedum keeps expanding and can have a spread of 100cm wide and (only) 10cm high.
Care
Because Sedum plants are descendants of succulents they are very easy to care for. Succulents (succulents) need almost no water because they can store water in their leaves. Sedum therefore hardly needs any water either. Furthermore, it is important to place the plant in good soil, preferably not in wet and fertile soil. Otherwise, the Sedum will fall apart because its stems will become too heavy. Finally, you can also prune the Sedum plants. Do this in October and then cut off the dead flower stems to just above the ground. Be careful though, as Sedum is toxic to pets and children.
Size
The plants have a height of 10-15cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 12cm.
