Iona Willow - Salix repens 'Iona' - Height 80-90cm - ⌀19cm

When yellow-grey catkins appear on the naked weeping branches of this willow, it's a sure sign that spring has arrived in your garden. Salix repens 'Iona' is a stemmed dwarf shrub and is, due to its specific way of growth, also called creeping willow. This species is particularly suitable as a solitary in a smaller garden, but it can also be planted in borders in combination with other perennials or in a pot on the terrace. The tree is deciduous, and grows oblong oval, grey-green leaves during the spring that are silvery white underneath. It is very hardy, tolerant to sea winds and air pollution, and its leaves turn yellow in the autumn. An amazing addition for your garden!

Care
Salix repens 'Iona' is easy to care for. It is important to water the plant regularly and keep the soil slightly moist. Put this willow in a place in the house with lots of light. Outside, the plant will do fine in full sun. When the Salix has finished flowering in April/May, it can be pruned back. Be careful with your pets though, as the plant is poisonous.
