The Citrus Calamondin mini-orange is a beautiful ornamental tree that looks like a mandarin with a wonderfully sweet-scented white blossom that is abundant in spring. This Citrus Calamondin is a crossing between the Mandarin and the Citrus Kumquat. This citrus tree grows small round, orange fruits that are approximately 4 cm in diameter. In Latin countries the fruits of this symmetrical, compact plant are known as ‘agri-dulce’ (Sweet and Sour) since the small, juicy orange fruits of the Calamondin have a bitter taste at first before leaving a delicious sweet flavour in your mouth. The Calamondin can be eaten as fruit but is more often used in various dishes and liqueurs. This wonderfully scented plant can perfectly serve as a houseplant.

Care
Citrus trees prefer a light, sunny place, moderate water and regular fertilizer. The fruits that follow may take up to a year to ripen but are well worth the wait. In terms of location, place the plants outside in full sun from mid-March to October, but let them easily get used to the sun in the first few weeks due to burning of the leaves. Since the Calamondin is not hardy, it must be placed inside during the winter. Reduce watering in winter but do not let the plant dry out completely. Too much or too little water may cause the fruits to drop.

Size
The plant has a height of 55-65cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
