Astilbe is a strong summer-flowering perennial, which makes it perfect for the beginner gardener. Care Plant the Astilbe in full soil in a spot in semi-shade. Make a spacious planting hole and loosen the soil well. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in compost and some garden turf. Put the roots of the plant in the hole at the right depth (approx. 5 cm). Fill the planting hole with soil and press firmly. The best location is a spot in semi-shade or shade. During growth it is important to water the plants regularly, reduce watering in autumn. When the tubers are planted in a pot, it is important that the potting soil does not dry out.
