The Acer palmatum 'Festival' is one of the many varieties of the Japanese maple. The Festival is a plant with a mix of different colored leaves mixed together, giving you the real festival feeling! During spring and summer the shrub has yellow, green and dark red leaves. Towards autumn the leaves turn orange and red. This mix of colors makes it a special plant to see and a nice addition to your garden.
Care
The Festival is a quiet grower with a narrow upright habit which keeps the plant compact. Therefore you can also grow this tree in a pot or smaller garden.Japanese Maples can best be planted from March to early November. During this period, the soil is warmer and the plants can root well. In a planter, this plant does not require special potting soil. Japanese Maples are strong plants but in a windy location the leaves can be damaged. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered place. The plant prefers a spot in semi-shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can dry out the roots and leaves, which can lead to leaf loss. A Japanese Maple is not evergreen, meaning it loses its leaves in winter. However, the plant is very hardy and will sprout again with beautiful new leaves starting in March.
Size
The plants have a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
